This policy ensures employees are protected from retaliation when reporting concerns in good faith.
Protected Activities
π Good Faith Complaints:
- Employees are protected when reporting concerns about misconduct, discrimination, illegal activities, conflicts of interest, or company policy violations.
π Objecting to Unlawful Practices:
- Employees who refuse to engage in or object to activities they reasonably believe violate the law are safeguarded under this policy.
π Assisting in Investigations:
- Employees who provide information to support an investigation into legal or policy violations are protected from retaliation.
π Participating in Legal Proceedings:
- Employees who file, testify, or assist in legal actions related to violations of the law are fully protected.
Consequences of Retaliation
π¨ Strictly Prohibited:
- Retaliation against employees for engaging in protected activities is strictly forbidden.
- Any employee found retaliating against a colleague will face disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
- Employees who knowingly make false reports may also face disciplinary measures.
Reporting Violations
π How to Report:
- Employees can report violations to their immediate manager or directly to Westside Market.
- Employees are encouraged to review state and local reporting requirements for additional guidelines.
- Reports will be promptly and thoroughly investigated with appropriate action taken.
β Confidentiality & Anonymity:
- Employees can choose to remain anonymous when making a report.
- All complaints will be handled with the utmost confidentiality and seriousness.
