1. Purpose & Objectives

The Security Protocol is designed to ensure the safety of employees, customers, and assets by:

✅ Establishing clear security policies for all employees.
✅ Preventing unauthorized access to the store.
✅ Maintaining vigilance during operating hours and after closing.
✅ Encouraging proactive reporting of security concerns.
✅ Strengthening emergency response measures in case of security breaches.

2. Understanding Security Policies

Employee Training & Compliance

  • All employees must undergo comprehensive training on internal security policies.
  • Managers are responsible for educating staff on security during onboarding and through ongoing training sessions.

3. Entering the Building for Store Opening

MOD Responsibilities Upon Arrival

  • The Manager on Duty (MOD) must disarm the alarm system using their unique code.
  • Once inside, the MOD must secure all entrance doors to prevent unauthorized access.

🚨 In Case of a Security Breach:
If any of the following signs are noticed, DO NOT enter the building:
❌ Open doors or broken locks
❌ Shattered windows
❌ Suspicious vehicles or persons nearby
❌ A sounding alarm

Action Steps:
1️⃣ Return to your vehicle immediately.
2️⃣ Notify the Operations Manager.
3️⃣ Call emergency services (911).

4. Access to the Building

📌 Restricted Access During Non-Business Hours

  • Only authorized employees with written approval from the Operations Manager may enter during non-business hours.
  • Managers must not enter on closed business days without prior written approval.

5. Security During Operating Hours

Customer & Warehouse Entry Points

  • Customer entrance doors must remain unlocked during business hours.
  • The warehouse gate must remain unlocked during normal operations.
  • Warehouse doors must be secured and locked when unattended.
  • Members renting warehouse space may open the door only for ventilation and must remain present while it is open.
  • The loading door must be closed when not in use and never left unattended.

6. Exiting the Building After Closing

Closing Time Security Procedures

  • Customer entrance doors must be locked promptly at closing.
  • If customers are still inside after closing, an associate must remain at the front door to assist them and lock the door once they exit.
  • A Key Holder must be present during closing, and employees should leave together after completing closing tasks.

7. Safety Precautions for Evening Exits

Employee Safety Measures

  • Employees should remain aware of their surroundings when leaving at night.
  • It is recommended to exit the building with a coworker, especially if feeling unsafe.
  • Before leaving, the MOD must set the alarm system and ensure the door is properly latched.

8. Reporting Security Concerns

📌 Proactive Monitoring & Incident Reporting
✅ Employees should immediately report any security concerns to their supervisor or the Operations Manager.
✅ Managers must take proactive measures to address and resolve security threats.

🚨 In Case of Suspicious Activity:

  • Employees at the front counter must observe if any customer attempts to leave without paying.
